Statement
Using personal narratives, I create installations that operate in the space between public and private. Text, images, and objects function as mnemonic devices, weaving stories that materialize memory. Through these assemblages, my work forms typologies of recollection—an active process of gathering, structuring, and reanimating the past.
Drawn to the material presence of objects, I integrate photography, printmaking, and sculpture, synthesizing these processes to examine memory, material culture, and the social sciences. Each medium functions as a connective thread, tracing relationships between personal history and collective experience.
Inviting viewers into my work is akin to staging a play: I carefully calibrate what is revealed and withheld, guiding perception through mapping, scripted audio, text, and non-linear structures. By creating collections of interconnected objects, I construct layered environments in which narratives unfold, overlap, and invite sustained reflection.

Patrick Perry is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores the spaces between perceived dichotomies—beautiful and ugly, ordinary and extraordinary, art and craft. Through site-specific works and installations, he investigates the subtle tensions that arise within these interstitial zones.
Perry’s academic training spans multiple disciplines. He received a Diploma in Fine Craft with a specialization in Jewelry/Metal Arts from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (1997), followed by studies in Sculpture and Installation at the Ontario College of Art (1998). He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (1999), a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick (2000), a Master of Fine Arts from the Maine College of Art (2006), and a Master of Arts in Photography from Lehman College, City University of New York (2019).
His professional experience includes work as an Exhibition Designer, Exhibition Coordinator, and art college instructor. He currently teaches Jewelry, Sculpture, 3D Design, and Darkroom Photography at Eastchester High School in Westchester, New York. Perry has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions throughout Canada and the United States.
Based in Lake Peekskill, New York, Perry is the founder of metria metal a jewelry company, and is currently pursuing a Landscape Design Certificate at the School of Professional Horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden.
