Material culture, craft and social sciences form a matrix for creating, through which I shed the veil of the stranger. Having lived in  5 of the 11 provinces in Canada, then moving to America, I have become accustomed to being a stranger in a new land. Influenced by the unsettling nature of new places, I have come to value the importance of community.  A primary concern is making familiar the unfamiliar and mining isolating experiences into a way of reaching out and connecting.
